"That word" (below-hyperlinked) comes up in a BVOV Ministries partner-letter I share at the linked-post.
What I show here is 'the group of words' that give "that word" a place to connect to your vocabulary ... deeper sources that firm the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Absolute” is built on "a prefix meaning Off, Away from (see Ab-)" + "a reflexive pronoun related to the word Idiom" + "an ancient word that means 'to |Loosen, Divide, Cut |Apart'" (sense evolved from |Detatched or Disengaged, to Perfect & Pure).
A fascinating word-history (with or without any connection to The Vodka).
Its meanings now include "Unrestricted, Free from Limitation, Complete, Free from Imperfection" &--before the crucial shift in its sense (mentioned in the parentheses above)--"Not Relative to Anything Else."
Previous meanings included "to Set Free, Acquit, Complete, Bring to an End; Make Separate."
The "Despotic"-senses come from the idea of "Absolute in Position."
The way BVOV Ministries used it (in the letter linked-above) seems more 'poetic' than "definitive"---they say they hope the letter makes you "more mindful of the absolute integrity of The WORD of God" ... 'unbreakable surety,' just like you're sure that the ground your airplane touches-down-on is impenetrable by your plane's wheels.
The scientific/mathematical & grammatical senses ... require more research than I feel like doing right now....
