@CBSSunday inspires My #industrious Nature (why I studied at @OKCU & wanted to work in the #Fashionindustry, #Musicindustry, #Movieindustry, #Televisionindustry, #Theaterindustry, #Comedyindustry, #Bookindustry, etc.)
#Industry (below-hyperlinked to a fashion-report segment from a recent CBS Sunday Morning) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Industry” is built on ancient words that mean "to |Build or |Spread |In" (a Habitual Diligence, |Aptitude, Systematic Work, a Particular |Trade or Manufacture).
#Industrial #Industrious #Industries #Industrially
Watching the 'above-hyperlinked' video (the 'Industry'-link), I'm reminded of one of the things that excited me about studying for an Entertainment Business degree at Oklahoma City University---the wide range of opportunities into-which I could shepherd my "clientele" (not necessarily just 'the artists I represent,' but also 'my co-workers, employers, professors, sponsors ... and even some influential readers or audience-members!)
And yes, the idea of 'shepherding to opportunities' obviously comes to me from Christianity---Lord Jesus Christ telling us of- (and very often 'presented to us as-') The Good Shepherd ...
That's forgetting for a second that 'The Good Shepherd' is noted for "leaving the good herd to 'rescue' the few bad sheep (regardless of their wishes---whether they need to be rescued or are adjusted just-fine to the 'punishment' of Goat-Life 🐐)."
But in most of The Bible (most-notably Psalm 23), the shepherd leads the sheep. And they are usually led 'to a place where they want to go.' Sure, maybe most real sheep end up in the slaughterhouse; but The Bible doesn't seem to remind us 'where real sheep end up.'
