#HappyBirthday to Y'all (in the #February23 #BirthdayCohort with #EmilyBlunt (mentioned by @EmBluntDaily) & #DakotaFanning (see @DakotaFonline) & ALL the #FamousBirthdays @Bing lists) on #NationalBananaBreadDay @Foodimentary | @colbertlateshow @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays, awareness-dates &/or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains the importance of #BananaBread in a report linked through 'the hyperlinks' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)

|Banana Bread| became popular back when 'bananas' (spelled that way, or spelled the way Stephen Colbert tells Gwen Stefani how to spell it) were usually too ripe to eat 'raw' by the time they got to the consumer; but they were just fine when baked into a #Bread.
The word |Bread| carries the scent of either "to |Boil, Bubble, Effervesce, Burn" (in reference to the leaven) or "a |Piece Broken off (to share)."

Foodimentary doesn't explain 'why today is Banana Bread Day,' but they do give us (along with some crucial facts about bananas) some other interesting things that happened on this date:

I sometimes get a little mind-spark from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that spark from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

This Day's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Pisces (in the wake of Aquarius) ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Emily Blunt, W.E.B. Dubois (Harvard's first black Ph.D. recipient), Kristen Davis (Charlotte on Sex in the City), Dakota Fanning, Peter Fonda, comedian Aziz Ansari, Majel Barrett, CEO Michael Dell, Josh Gad (Le Fou in the live-action Beauty and the Beast (and maybe the voice in the animation too ... when he was 12, I dunno), Tom Bodett ("Motel 6"-spokesman)

... and many others (most of whom are at the 'Birthday-Cohort' link)---

you might comment telling why we should recognize a special one I missed ...

My Heart of the Nation calendar (which tells me which celebrations we (Catholics) are celebrating, and which color Vestments the clergy are wearing) tells us that this day's for the Memorial (in Red) of St. Polycarp
