Whenever people #Ascribe The Bible to "God," this is the knowledge behind the response "WRONG!" | @UsefulCharts

Watching,

|that word| (linked to Matt Baker's "Who Wrote The Bible?"-series) seems important; so I found out a little more about it and share my findings with you below (and I discuss it beneath (and you might add to the discussion in the comments)).

The word |Ascribe| is built on ancient words that mean "to Write To (see Ad-)," with Write based on proto-word *skribh-.
on which also-built (Yoda-ese? a little) #Ascribes #Ascribed
 #Ascribing #Ascribable #Ascribably #Ascribability

To Keep Up on My 'Research,'

I'm 'obsessing' on this series a little bit, because ... well, I'll start with 'my comment on the above video.' On that YouTube-page, I commented
[I]t really annoys me when people refer to The Bible as "God's Word." God's Word is written in the believer's 'heart' (or 'emotional mind,' whatever); The Bible just helps you learn how to discern it from your 'worldly' thinking.
Anyway; when people refer to The Bible as "God's Word" from now on, I know know to send them to 'Who Wrote the Bible?' Thank you!

When I first started 'really reading The Bible' (i.e. looking at comic books that tell the story), my parents told me it was 'the history of the world.' I see now that it's not 'exactly what happened' so much as 'all we need to know to stop worrying about "where we came from" and get on with our lives'

(the same way you don't need to know about 'the whole process of pregnancy' when you ask your parents 'where you came from').

You can see from the video above (and I'm taking notes---mostly for my learning, but it's here for you) that
Most people think it works out: The Christians have The Bible (The Old Testament & New Testament), Jews have the Tanakh (a.k.a. The Jewish Bible) & Muslims have the Quran; it ACTUALLY works out: Christians' Old Testament IS Jews' Tanakh (the first five books of either being The Torah), and Jews also have The Talmud---not quite 'Jewish Scripture,' except it IS Oral Tradition & Commentary on that tradition. As this vid deals just with The Torah ...
Most people think it's all written by Moses. Evidence proposes that Moses is more 'a legendary character,' and the 5 books are layers that are pieced together (revealing why there are multiple accounts of The Creation Story, Abra.'s Lie about Sara., Jacob's Name Israel, etc. (my grammar on those stories may seem wrong, but the stories themselves are a little mixed up)).

Pentateuch Studies generally give us 3 Theories of 'Who Wrote The Torah?' (the books Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy) 1) The Documentary Hypothesis (that The Torah was pieced together from four original sources) 2) The Supplementary Hypothesis (generally the same as the Doc. Hyp., but switched around ... see below) & 3) The Dual-Origins Hypothesis (a) Three Patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob/Israel) & b) Moses)
The Documentary Hypothesis names its sources J (Jahwist ... writers under King Solomon), E (Elohist ... of the breakaway (from Judah) Northern kingdom of Israel), D (Deuteronomist ... under the reign of Josiah after the fall of The Northern kingdom) & P (Priestly ... after the Jews' return from Babylon);
with a mix of J, E & P writing Gen, Exo & Num (with a lot of scholars 'adding (whether creatively or 'archaeologically' 🤓) text to glue the stories together), P writing all of Lev, and D writing all of Deu.
The Supplementary Hypothesis posits that Deuteronomy was 'the original Torah,' with J & E (combined into one source) & P all 'supplemental' to it, and adding another source R (Redactor)
The Dual-Origin Hyp. - where the Priests (P) wove 'The Three Patriarchs' narrative together with some of the 'Moses' narrative (along with their own writing---with reference to Lev. I guess), then the Redactor took that writing & wove it together with Deu. to give us the first version of the current Torah.
This third hypothesis makes sense---it explains the apparent disconnect between Genesis & Exodus (which makes us unsure how long the Hebrews were enslaved in Egypt). We also learn that Israel--rather than breaking into 'Judah & Israel'--began as 'Judah (source of the Three Patriarchs origin) & Israel (source of the Moses)' and unified into one Israel.
Also, Father Israel (father of Technicolor-Dreamcoat Joseph) may be not a renaming of- but a totally different person from-Father Jacob (father of Judah). P united the Zadokite Priests into the Levites, united Moses & (High-Priest) Aaron as brothers, broke the Levites' ties with Egypt & the Zadokites' ties with Mesopotamia.
Israeli Bible-culture looks like a blend of Egyptian influence (from West of their land) and Assyrian/Babylonian (on their East).

In the following sections of the series, Matt Baker discusses The Prophets, The Writings, The Apocrypha, The Gospels, The Epistles, Daniel & Revelation, and The Qur'an (which Christians don't think is part of The Bible ... maybe they're right; we'll see). I will-take/took notes on those sections and will-link/linked to them above.
