The word “Babble” is built on ancient words that mean "Baby-Talk (also covering 'Meaningless Mumbling, Yada-yada, etc.')" 
Though OED specifies that there's "[n]o direct connexion [sic] with Babel," the Biblical city's name has affected senses of Babble.
