#Hancock ... I just saw the @HancockMovie, and--since we just-recently celebrated the #FoundingFathers (including #JohnHancock)--I'm inspired to 'dig' ... | @Bing @wikipedia @USNatArchives @BIOGRAPHY @StanfordLibs @Snopes @MichaelLRoss7 @JourAmerRevo @iMDB
And I hope I'm not "spoiling it" when I "give away" that the 'supe' in the movie is only called "John Hancock" because--after he woke up with amnesia in the hospital--they asked him to put "his John Hancock" in the signature-line ('one's John Hancock' being slang for 'one's signature,' from the Founding Father's decision to sign his name extra-large on The Declaration of Independence (of the USA).
I discuss 'some possibilities the movie inspires' in a paying forum you can access through 'the emboldened link(s)' below; you can join the forum and make a little money there, but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)

And I'm going to 'dig' into all the known-history of the 'supe' Hancock--fan-theories/propositions about his history & origins & destiny etc.--but first I want to know, "How did the real John Hancock's signature earn it's place in our lexicon as 'a word for all signatures?"
- John Hancock - Wikipedia, which tells us that 'the infamous signature' (which John says he wrote gigantically so that King George could read it without his spectacles) was not actually on the original copy of The Declaration of Independence, but rather is on "the engrossed copy" (the one on display at the National Archives).

I might 'dig a little deeper' later, but right now I get the sense that he--one of the richest men in The Colonies, and President of The Continental Congress (who drafted The Declaration)--he was a huge influencer.
As I was watching the movie, I was inspired with a few possible sequel-ideas. My main idea(s) revolve around Ray Embrey--played by another naamgenoot (namesake/eponym, name-fellow, name-twin, homonymous) of mine--and his "super-power" of Positive Spin.
Or maybe it could be 'that power' passed-on to his son---possibly Aaron--the son during-whose-birth the first wife died--or possibly a second son he had with Mary (if he impregnated her before she told him she was 'a different species'), giving us a whole 'sibling rivalry'-aspect (like Thor & Loki had in MARVEL's AVENGERS) or a Prodigal Son follow-up (where the second son gets everything that usually goes to the firstborn, but they 'make do').
I also want to explore "John" and "Mary's" origins (and not just because Charlize Theron gave some hints so enchantingly)
Gods, angels... Different cultures call us by different names. Now all of a sudden it's superhero.... There were (more of us). They all died. It's just the two of us.... You're becoming mortal. Its us Being close to each other. Its never happened this fast before. ... Its like I said, we were built in pairs. And when we get.. close to our opposites we lose power ... So we can live human lives; Love, connect, grow old, die
I don't think they're 'the same couple,' but they remind me of a pair of the superheroes of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW---created by an Egyptian curse of some kind when she was a harem-girl in the court of a Pharaoh, but she fell in love with one of the palace-guards and Pharaoh cursed them both to ... live forever? No ... let me check ...
... you can read what she is (and what her 'soulmate' is) at that link; but the point is that they don't exactly have that 'when we're together, we become mortal'-rule, unless we ret-con some legality about how they reincarnate after they grow old together & die---focusing on when Mary said 'It's never happened this fast before.'
