The word “Gorgeous” is from the French for Elegant, Fashionable (probably built on ancient words that mean Necklace (and thus anything |Showy like Jewelry), from ancient words that mean Throat-|Adornment (|Gorge) ... possibly connected to the name Gorgias, a notorious Greek sophist).
