Though @Bing Hopes We All Come Together to #GiveWithBing on #GivingTuesday, @MicrosoftNews felt it important that I Learn #WhereGivingTuesdayBegan | #Tuesday

... I had to 'dig' (just a little ... 'all the way down' to the second search-result!!!) to get to the page about Give With Bing's effort on Giving Tuesday, but--since that page (linked through the picture below) looks kind of temporary (like its topic switch back to 'helping folks with their "digital skills"' soon)--

Microsoft News explains Giving Tuesday's origin in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

"Tuesday" is named for ancient words that mean "Day of the God of War (Mars (as in #MardiGras (Fat Tuesday), Zeus) & -the Sky (to Shine; Tiu).

They then go on to talk about:
  • Who to Support ... featured nonprofit partners ...
  • Girls Who Code - Striving to close the gender gap in technology, Girls Who Code equips young women with the computing skills needed to pursue 21st-century opportunities.
  • 4-H - Through the 4-H Tech Changemakers program, teens across the country lead digital skills trainings in their communities to provide greater economic opportunity for all.
  • UNICEF - Every child has the right to an education. In over 140 countries, UNICEF works tirelessly to ensure children and adolescents have the knowledge and skills they need to thrive (though UNICEF "does not endorse any" of those brands, products, companies or services ... something they have to say 'as a company,' though I'm sure 'its individual members' would endorse all the children's efforts!)
  • Give With Bing (to your selection of Over One-Million Nonprofits) - It's easy to support your favorite cause all year long just by searching on Bing. Select your favorite cause
