The word "Zeus" carries the scent of "to Shine" (just like Sky, Heaven, God, Sun, Lightener).
Zeus is the Greek god equivalent to the Norse god Thor (tho Zeus is the king of their gods where Thor is only a prince beneath Odin ... another role that Zeus fills). His Roman equivalent is Jupiter. His Hindu equivalent (at least by height of power) is Indra. And his Slavic equivalent is Perun.
