My Microsoft Rewards dashboard tells me that this week is International Dark Sky Week—a week to think about some ways to combat 'Light-Pollution' (the reason there don't seem to be as many stars in the night-sky these days).

I'll discuss 'what we're remembering this week' in a moment; but first, let's remember the ancient words that 'those words' (below-hyperlinked to a list of Dark Sky Parks—national parks where the light-pollution is kept to a minimum and the skies are particularly starry) are built-upon.

The word "Sky" is built on ancient words that mean "to |Cover, Conceal" (originally the same word was used for Cloud, and for Heaven (although it might've gotten mixed up with Heavens)).
The word “Pollute” is built on ancient words that mean “|Before + to Smear, make Dirty (|Lutose)” (to |Contaminate, |Soil, |Desecrate, |Defile; |Discharge |Semen Outside of |Sexual |Congress).

You can see what light-pollution has done, when you look at 'how the night-sky looks now' as opposed to 'how it's looked before' and 'even before that.'

Jennifer Barlow*–a high-schooler in 2003 Midlothian, Virginia–noticed this and founded "National Dark Sky Week" (recognized and upgraded to "International" by the International DarkSky Association (IDA)).

*I'm not sure if Jennifer Barlow is still a fan of the dark sky ... she might've gone on to be
the first female to pilot The Enterprise ... No, that's not her; I found 4-or-5 "Jennifer Barlow"s on Twitter
and several on Facebook ... I even found a few obituaries, but I'll keep looking ...
