#HappyBirthday to Y'all (in the #November10 #BirthdayCohort with #NeilGaiman @neilhimself & @TracyMorgan & ALL #TheFamousPeople) on #VanillaCupcake Day @NationalToday | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays, awareness-dates &or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

National Today explains the #Vanilla Cupcake in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The word “Vanilla (\ #Vanillin #VanillaBean)” is built on ancient words that mean "|Sheath of an Ear of Grain, |Husk of a Plant" (see Vagina ... the plant was so-named for the |Shape of its Little Seed-Pods).

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

Today's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Scorpio ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: SNL-alum Tracy Morgan, comedian Sinbad, Tommy Davidson, lyricist Tim Rice, wrestler Bob Orton Jr., Martin Luther (the original Protestant), Neil Gaiman, Kiernan Shipka, composer Ennio Morricone, filmmaker Roland Emmerich, Mikhail Kalashnikov (inventor of the AK-47). Claude Rains, wrestler Ryback ... and lots more I don't recognize

... and many others (most of whom are at the 'Birthday-Cohort' link)---

Tell me about any of today's birthdays who're famous to you (and where we
 should've heard of them).

Do I mention any you haven't heard-of? Ask me about them in the comments!

My Heart of the Nation calendar says that we (Catholics) are celebrating St. Leo the Great, with the clergy wearing White Vestments for the Memorial
