Mr. Mythos describes part of the story of The Codex Gigas in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
Codex Gigas is Latin for Giant Book. 
The word “Giant” might be built on ancient words that mean Earth-Borne (Legendary Race of |Divine (but |Monstrous & |Savage) |Offspring of |Gaia & |Uranus, Humans of such Great Size & Strength that the Jewish Bible proposes they were Fathered by Angels ... the word was naturally applied to types of Stars (possibly only thinking of the size, not necessarily the divine origins)). #Gigantic #SubGiant #Supergiant #Giantess
