#HappyBirthday to @KobeBryant & @JayMohr37 & ... you? (the #August23 #BirthdayCohort) on #RideTheWind Day | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates #TheFamousPeople @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or on 'whichever of these holidays & or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains the holiday (which might also be Ride Like the Wind Day, but that might be in honor of 'something else') in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc-etc. ad infinitum)

#Ride the Wind Day was started in honor of the first winner of The Kremer Prize (Paul MacCready & his Gossamer Condor).
The word “Ride” is built on ancient foundations that also support Travel, |Chariot. #Rode #Riding #Ridden  #Rider #Bedridden #HayRide #Override #RideOutTheStorm #LetItRide #RideHerdOn #RideShotgun #RideShankSMare #RidesAgain

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

Today's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Virgo (on the cusp of Leo) ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Jared Fogle (SUBWAY guy ... who did some stuff I don't talk about), coach Jon Cooper, politically infamous Stephen Miller, theologian William Lane Craig, author Rob Bell, Kobe Bryant, River Phoenix, Seth Curry, Keith Moon, Barbara Eden, Shelley Long, Rick Springfield, Jay Mohr, Henry Every (King of the Pirates, The Arch Pirate, Benjamin Bridgeman, Henry Avery) ... and lots more I don't recognize (maybe you do recognize some ... you can find the date at the birthday-cohort link)

(and--if you or someone you know about has a birthday today
--please mention them (and how you know them or -know
about them) in the comments, thanks)

My Heart of the Nation calendar says that we (Catholics) are celebrating St. Rose of Lima, with the clergy wearing White Vestments for the Optional Memorial (Green Vestments otherwise)
