What I show here is 'the group of words' that couch "that word" (below hyperlinked to a discussion about 'the way I think marriage should work' (or about something totally-different---the discussion hasn't developed that far yet)) into your vocabulary ... deeper meanings that 'firm the foundations' upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Ticket” is built on ancient words that mean "to be |Stuck to a Wall (usually with a Pointed Tack, as a public notice (of upcoming events, etc.))" (the way the discussion means it--'an item that gives its holder a right or privilege'--developed from the sense of |Certificate, License, |Permit; the slang for 'Just |Exactly the Needed Thing' is probably from the notion of Drawing the Winning Lottery-Ticket).

And that (along with the other benefits listed in the slideshow above) is a) what I want to be in a marriage but b) lack 'what people perceive as "the authority needed to be 'exactly the needed thing'" (i.e. no automobile, no substantial income, no 'community-presence' (call it "fame," call it "noted usefulness to others in my community" ...)
