My "Devotional" to the #idle Gods of Genesis (#idleGOG a.k.a. #DarkGenesis) | #CompulsiveListMaking, using @FacebookGaming @ResearchManiacs | #idleness #idler #idly

Well, I'm playing it on Facebook; but 'the designers explain it more' at the page linked-to through "that word" below (tho the designers misspell 'Genesis' and call their creation a "WONDERFUL GAME VIDEO" (where I'm sure they mean 'WONDERFUL VIDEO-GAME')).

I'll go into 'compulsively listing the characters-etc. from the game' below the Subscribe-bar; but What I show first is 'the group of words' that give "that word" a place to connect to your vocabulary ... deeper sources that firm the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word β€œIdle” is built on the same 'unknown origin' as the ancient words that mean |Empty, Worthless, Vain, Useless, |Mere ... Pure? (probably in the 'immature'-sense rather than the sense of 'honest & righteous).

The game is a Role-Playing Game (RPG) in which the player is 'the manager' of a team of supernatural beings who--having nothing better to do--gather in teams & guilds, and battle other teams and guilds and various creatures/deities---building their individual strengths & finding weapons & armor & trinkets/lucky-charms & curios/also-lucky-charms (and possibly other magic devices) to amplify their power.

I'll start listing ...
  • Characters
    • Friends
      • Main Team-Members (whom the game calls "Heroes"):
        • Fezz, Darktide Merfolk
        • Caine, Lionhearted
        • Xiang-Yu, Hegemon-King (or is that 'King of the Hegemon'?)
        • Mammon, Demon of Avarice
        • Baldr, God of Light
        • Frigg, the Revelator
        • Tyr, Indomitable God
        • XiShi, Beauty of Legend
        • Tutankhamun, Great Pharoah
        • Brynhild, Valkyrie of Swords (whose "Upgrade"-sound (when you're 'charging her up' between levels-50 & -75) might damage your speakers if they're above 'Quiet' πŸ˜–)
        • Leviathan, Demon of Envy
        • Gulana, Sacred Sword
        • Moana, Assassin
        • Sindar, a mermaid-creature known as a Solent
        • Hephaestus, God of Fire
        • Gawain, Sun Knight
        • Varus, Voice of Death
        • Merlin, Archmage (who might be better-named 'Merlina')
      • Other Players (whom you meet in the game and put on your (in game) friend-list, with whom you share 'Cheese' (see Tools below), and maybe some advice via chat)
    • Enemies (Mostly Non-Player Characters (NPCs) or maybe 'other players chosen semi-randomly')---arranged by 'where you battle them'
      • The Arena (where players from around the world station their best character-teams to defend their rank, and using that team to challenge the stationed defenders & rise in rank)
      • The God-Lamp Boss (you come & rub the magic lamp (a limited number of times every day), and battle the god that rises from the lamp- or help friends battle the gods that rise from their lamps-and are rewarded for your effort)
      • The Abysses: all just gradually-more-difficult lists of NPC-teams you have your teams battle for the victory-rewards.
        • Eternal Abyss
        • Inferno Abyss - opens after you reach Floor-800 of Eternal Abyss or Your Heroes reach Level 120
        • Elemental Abyss - opens after reaching floor-300
      • Guild Conquest - basically, you submit your top characters to fight for your Guild; and the computer throws `em into battle with other Guilds ...
        • ... I guess---I haven't been playing this for very long, and only just now realized 'you gotta submit ALL THREE 3-PERSON TEAMS AT ONCE' (I tried to submit one of the 3-person teams without the other two, and the program WOULDN'T LET ME ... it said "You need to deploy at least one hero," and I didn't know it meant 'at least 1 ON THE OTHER TWO TEAMS YOU'RE SUBMITTING' 🀦)
      • Zodiac Maze - like The Abysses, 24 levels of gradually-tougher NPC-teams (except these are reset everyday, where the Abyss-levels are mostly one-&-done) Each stage wins you more Coins & more Roses (you can spend at the Zodiac Maze Store)

If your starting team is partially- or totally vanquished, you can replace defeated members with other characters & keep on defeating enemies in the ZM, using-Olive Branches to revive your top characters when they're all vanquished & -up to 3 Assistant NPCs provided after you've beaten a few stages.
        • Normal or Hell - the first 12 stages of the Zodiac Maze (each stage named after an astrology-sign ... the Hell stages are available after you've cleared all 24 stages TEN TIMES)
        • Nightmare - the second 12 stages, each named 'Dark [Astrology-Sign]'
      • Ruin Hunt - assorted dungeons where you hunt for treasures, most of which are guarded by NPC-enemies
      • Regular Deployment
        • The Worlds - series of stages where you meet NPC-teams in battle, with rewards for winning
          • Khufu
          • Tut's Tomb
          • Nile River
          • Hanging Gardens of Babylon
          • Qatif Oasis
          • Obelisk
          • Mummy Cavern
          • Nubian Temple
          • Akhmim Temple
          • Solar Ship
          • Stonehenge
          • Great Wall
          • Loulan Ancient City
          • Statue of Olympian Zeus
          • Khufull (or is that 'Khufu β…‘'??)
          • Tut's Tomb β…‘ (I see it now)
          • Nile River β…‘
          • etc. etc. (the list repeats ... the rest with β…‘, than with III, IV, ... I'm not sure how high it goes)
        • The Hero Crusade - where you select certain of your Heroes to do tasks, earning you rewards when they return ... paying them with Drumsticks you win from battles in The Worlds
  • Friendly Locations:
    • Shops
      • Mystery Shop - where we can trade Coins & Gems for various tools ('stuff')
      • Point Shop - where we can buy stuff with Soulstones
      • Arena Shop - where we can buy stuff with GoldRam Horn won in the Arena
      • Godhood Shop - where we can buy stuff with 'Godhoods' (a special kind of gem you earn at special events)
      • Emblem Shop - ... I dunno; it won't tell me until I'm Level 70
    • The Loot Hunt (which is more like a prize-spinner) - where you can spin-to-win a prize from either the Normal Wheel (by paying with a Normal Scroll) or the Hi-Loot Wheel (paying with a Hi-Loot Scroll)
    • The Summon - where you can add heroes to your team in return for a Hi-Summon Scroll, a Normal-Summon Scroll, or Cheese (that your Friends give you)
    • Elementium - where we can trade in Elemental Hearts for Hero Shards
    • Fusion Temple - where we can fuse low-level heroes into higher-level ones (transforming them into higher gods)
    • Forge - where we can merge our lower level gear into stronger armor & -weapons & -tools
    • Airship - where we can take heroes extra energy and turn it into Soulstones & Crystals etc.
    • Valorheim - where we can place the heroes in Deity ... it does something with their fighting-ability ...
  • Tools:
    • Coins, Roses & 'Drumsticks' (the bird-leg, not the gourd-striker) I mentioned above
