Another Curse on @Scientology - The #Cost (of Books ... also of 'Audits' & Training Courses etc.) | @LeahRemini @CSDatCMU #CarnegieMellonUniversity @WhatScientology | #Costs #Costing #Costly #Costlier #Costliest

Well, 'you can see the LIBRARY Scientologists have to BUY' at the article linked-to through "that word" below. (Maybe I'll do 'just a little comparison-shopping' to show whether Scientology's giving members the best deals.)

What I show here first is 'the group of words' that give "that word" a place to connect to your vocabulary ... deeper sources that firm the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Cost” is built on ancient words that mean "to Stand (make or be Firm) With or -Together (see Co-)" (that's the reason-why people say a purchase-price stands at X-dollars ... the phrase "at all costs" goes back to an obsolete meaning of cost - Manner, Way, Course of Action, Chosen Choice, Election).

This came up in the third episode of Leah Remini's 'exposé' of the "CSI" (I guess I want to differentiate it from 'Scientology,' as the "Church of Scientology International" seems to be something different than the ideals that the philosophy espouses). Leah had a whole closet-full of Scientology-textbooks!

And--while complaining about 'having to BUY- & READ all the books'--she and a few other ex-Scientologists also complained about 'the costs of ascending steps on The Bridge' ... which involved buying- & going through-hours & hours of auditing/training, some of which you had to descend back to & reascend past when it was claimed 'they made new discoveries on lower levels' ...

when you had to buy new editions of the old textbooks (which--it's rumored--were actually just 'the old textbooks rearranged just enough to seem different enough to justify "having to buy a whole new book"' ... a lot like they say established textbook-publishers do with college-, high school- & elementary school-textbooks so that schools--instead of passing the old books from old students to new students--practically have to trash the old books & buy whole-new ones for the following years!)

... I may 'comparison shop' a little later; but a) it'll mostly be at Amazon & b) it might be better if you start with these selections instead. (I looked-up 'Scientology textbooks'; and it did list some of their instruction-books, but only after one-or-two of the ex-Scientologists' screeds!)
