A 'Comment' on the @PizzaHut-Delivered #Cinnabon Mini-Rolls (#NoOneOutPIZZAStheHut, but maybe someone #OutMINIROLLS them?) | @TheDailyMeal @SeattleMet
'That name' (below-hyperlinked to Pizza Hut's dessert-menu—where they might still offer Cinnabon mini-rolls you can order NOW) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The name "Cinnabon" (I'm "guessing," because most people feel it's too 'obvious' to waste time "explaining") is a portmanteau of the word #Cinnamon with the French word for "Good" (bon) pasted over the last syllable (if it's not just a warped use of the word |Bun).
The word “Cinnamon” is built on ancient names for a Spice made of the |Dried |Inner |Bark of either the |Ceylon Tree (a tree in the family |Lauraceae (the same family as the |Laurel, |Camphor & Avocado)) or the |Cassia Tree; or the word describes "a Reddish-|Brown Color."
The mini-rolls were phenomenal, I guess; but, like I wrote to Pizza Hut:
I must be a spoiled brat (a little), because I'm 'upset' that the box of Cinnabon mini-rolls didn't have microwave-instructions written on them.... then I turn the box around and–DUH!–there it is in huge, bold, capital letters:
REHEATING INSTRUCTIONS
REMOVE MINI ROLLS FROM BOX AND PLACE IN MICROWAVE
HEAT 1 ROLL FOR 10 SECONDS & ADD 8 SECONDS FOR EACH ADDITIONAL ROLL
but–to avoid wasting my time having started the 'note of complaint,' and because ...
... I edited my complaint-note to read:I must be a spoiled brat (a little) and/or an obsessive-compulsive (like Adrian MONK on that detective-show), because I'm 'upset' that the box of Cinnabon mini-rolls' microwave reheating instructions didn't specify the 'amplitude' of the microwave you used. (Mine's 900 watts, so I usually have to add a few seconds because I THINK the common 'amplitude' is 1100 watts).
Trying to verify the guesses I made above, I found a 'things you don't know about'-list for Cinnabon.
- The Daily Meal tells me:
- Cinnabon's owned by the owners of Carvel, Seatle's Best and Moe's—a spinoff of Roark Capital Group they named FOCUS Brands
- Their COO (Kat Cole) got the job at age 33
- The Cinnabon Classic contains 890 calories (36 grams of fat (17 of saturated fat), 59 of sugar, & 20 milligrams of cholesterol
- The woman who finalized the recipe (Jerilyn Brusseau, Seattle 'cinnamon-roll'-specialist) is "The CinnaMom"
- The first Cinnabon-shop to open outside of a mall opened in an airport
- Cinnabons bake for 14 minutes (a little over half the standard cinnamon-rolls' bake-time)
- They use Makara Cinnamon from Indonesia (the same cinnamon in Pillsbury Grands and Cinnamon Toaster Strudels ... some Cinnabon stores sell packets of the cinnamon!)
- They tried to add cupcakes, but decided it wasn't gonna work
- There's Cinnabon Vodka
- They were the first chain to open in Libya after Gaddafi was ousted
- Franchisees can get the rolls FTO (freezer-to-oven, where they're shipped in pre-prepared & frozen, and all the franchisee has to do is bake them), as prepared dough (where the store just thaws it out, makes it into rolls & cooks it) or 'from scratch' (dry ingredients the store mixes with other ingredients ... you can tell by the smell)
