Why the #Discrepancy between @ALTOIDS' & @VerMints' Nutrition Information?

'That word' (below-hyperlinked to Mayo Clinic's explanation of the "Percent Daily Values") is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Discrepancy” ( #Discrepancies) is built on ancient words that mean "to |Rattle- or Crack- (Raven) |Apart or -|Off."

This word comes up because ... I'm looking at a container of ALTOIDS & a container of VerMints. The ALTOIDS tell me that their serving's 1 gram of Sugar is 2% of the recommended % Daily Value.

However, the VerMints tell me that their serving's 2 grams of Sugar is ZERO% of the recommended % Daily Value!

The VerMints say the PDV they're using is based on a "2,000-per-day" diet. The ALTOIDS give no such calorie-count ... maybe they base their percentage on a smaller number of daily calories.

Sound right?
