What Defines Royalty? Lineage by #Ancestry? What about #Apostolic Lineage? (#Apostolicy?) @PrayerDotOrg @Wikipedia @AtlantisBBCA @HULU @NPR @RationalDBlog
'Those words' (below-hyperlinked to a post on Meghann & Harry deciding not to be "Royal") is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Ancestry” is built on ancient words that mean "|Before, in Front of, Fore|head + to Go, Yield." #Ancestor #Ancestral #Ancestors #Ancestress
The word “Apostolic” is built on ancient words that mean "|Off, Away from + to Send (|Put in Order, |Set an object to Stand)"
(Messenger (particularly those sent with The Message of Lord Jesus Christ), Epistle, Missionary who Brings Christianity to a New Region or -People, Chief |Advocate of a New Principle or System, New Testament book (which I've only ever called "Acts," short for "Acts of the Apostles") titled Apostles (short-for "The Acts and Epistles of the Apostles")). #Apostle #Apostleship
This comes up for several reasons:
At the (first) moment, it comes up because "Jason of Atlantis" can't marry Queen Ariadne (tho they're deep in love) because ... SPOILER ALERT-
-almost as-much-for-me as -for-you, as I'm 'slowly binging' my way through it (on hulu) and have only seen through to Episode 4 of Season 2
... Jason isn't royalty (as far as either of them know). But his friends (Pythagoras & Hercules, just-above) know that he's actually the son of the evil queen they just helped Atlantis to exile from the kingdom.
So--according to BBC's ATLANTIS--"royalty" depends upon not-only ancestral lineage, but-also belief (looking at the foundation of 'royal,' that's "belief that you are next-in-line ... and/or moving kingdom-matters in a straight line to the best possible outcome).
That brings up Christians' "lineage." To put it simply, we're all 'Children of God' through our blood-fraternity (stated in The Gospels, repeated in The Epistles, and reaffirmed by rituals we do from infancy through old age & death) with Lord Jesus Christ.
church' (rather than 'just watching it on TV or -on our i-devices')---
because we have to align 'every cell of our being' ... we want to be
"clones" of Lord Jesus Christ---not 'mindless clones with no hint of
individuality,' but not 'so different that we lack any of the capability
all the other clones enjoy.'
What makes Lord Jesus Christ "royalty"? Yes, His lineage (illustrated here, reaffirmed by almost every Christian, and noted in every standard Christian Bible); but ... about as surely as Sen. Elizabeth Warren is a Native American.
That is, there's no 'standard record' that says "Jesus was the son of Joseph & Mary, both somehow-heirs of Eleazar, heir of Zadok, heir of Zerubbabel, heir of Josiah, heir of Hezekiah, heir of Asa, heir of David, heir of Jacob, heir of Isaac, heir of Abraham, heir of Seth, heir of Adam & Eve (pair created by Our Heavenly Father)," but it's accepted as tradition and passed down as truth.Another reason I don't say 'apostasy' is "the opposite of" 'apostolic lineage' (and also the reason why I call it 'apostolicy' instead of "apostleship") is ... it's kind of 'a tradition of breaking tradition!' You remember the original disciples' position in the church---they actually started it as a rebellion against the Jewish church! (or in a rebellion against the Roman empire)
And now it has many denominations---"separate" churches who all agree with the main beliefs, but who can't stand each other when they cling to their differences. And did they meet together and agree to go their separate ways? Not exactly! The way I heard it, the people who couldn't hold to many of the Catholic beliefs had to break away from the Catholic Church!
