#Synchronize to Pray More Effectively - Why it Matters "Which Words You Say" when You Pray with @MarWilliamson ('Prayress' Marianne) Every Sunday @YourTango @PrayerDotOrg @CEFofCentOK @TheWilliamsonI1
'That word' (below-hyperlinked to YourTango's announcement of the first of Marianne Williamson's Global Prayer-Syncs, back when the COVID-19 quarantine was just starting) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “Synchronize” is built on ancient words that mean "Together + Time" #Synchronous #Synchronized #Synchronization #SyncronizedSwimming #Sync
I see it all the time---friends on Facebook & Twitter telling us that they "need us all to pray for them" (occasionally specifying 'the problem they're having that they need us to pray-against' or 'the feat they're attempting that they need us to pray for their confidence-in' ... usually a health-concern, sometimes a vacation-trip or a big job-interview etc.)
And the misconception-ruiner in me wants to remind them that 'the prayer does nothing---according to the very person "in whose Name you pray":
... when thou mayest pray, go into thy chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who is seeing in secret, shall reward thee manifestly
But--though we all still phrase our prayers exactly as if you were 'asking for a being with control over the results to bend the outcome in your favor'--that usually isn't the reason you pray!
Yes, you are hoping that things come out in favor of 'the people whom you're praying-for'; but you're not praying 'to make that happen' so much as you're praying 'to remind yourself (and -anyone who hears/sees your prayer) that things probably will go your/their way!'
Child Evangelism Fellowship explains that prayer is our way of taking the gifts Our Heavenly Father (God) gives us ... sort of like 'announcing "Mother, May I"' (in the game of the same name).
Why does it matter that we all pray at the same time? Because we're not powered by 'the quality' of our prayers ... not as much as -by 'their quantity'---a tiny diamond of purest quality is going to do a lot less damage than an avalanche of dirty, ugly boulders.
The avalanche-power you feel when you pray at Noon (Eastern), when you know that your prayer is part of the avalanche of prayers happening around the world---that is the Spirit of Intention, the 'feeling' that 'the destiny about to befall you' is exactly what Our Heavenly Father (or Yahweh or Allah or The Universe etc.) selected especially for you and your associates.
... I'm not actually sure if Prayress Marianne has specific words she wants us to use, but I think it matters---Why does it matter which words we pray? Well, is a crowd more forceful if they're yelling a senseless cacophonous roar or -if they're chanting a unified direct message? or are the ideas a choir sings-of clearer when the members all freestyle ad lib or -when they all sing the same words in the same style? the former is 'a spray of pebbles' compared to 'the emblazoned battering-ram' of the latter.
And yes, I guess that's thinking of 'the prayers of protesters' more than 'the prayers of patient petitioners'; but I think the effect is the same. When your words are identical to the words of all the others, they are clearer to all who need to hear them (especially to The One with Control over the Situation).
