Use @OKDiversionHub to #Divert yourself from The System that's not Serving Your Special Needs | @DavidFHolt @BingMaps
The word “Divert” is built on ancient words that mean "to Turn Aside and/or -From" (|Draw Away from a Particular Intention or State of Mind (Amuse, Entertain)). #Diversion #Diverts #Diverting
Following Mayor David Holt on Facebook, I saw this post:
The Diversion Hub will be a comprehensive, one-stop network dedicated to assisting justice-involved individuals in Oklahoma City by harnessing the power of multiple support agencies through combined and synchronized services. Its goal is to provide life-stabilizing resources while empowering individuals to reduce their encounters with the criminal justice system through enhanced support services, including case management, data integration and coordinated communication under one roof.
- Navigating Civil Concerns
- Education
- Employment - reminding me of Gospel Celebration Fellowship---a non-denominational church I 'landed in' (when I was "church-hopping" in college) whose main program was a prison-ministry. (I hear that it began as 'the AA-club of a Church-of-Christ.')
Many (if not all) of its pastors were ex-convicts. And--besides getting convicts out for Sabbath church-services--they also helped with employment-services. - Family Services
- Housing Referrals - studies have shown (I think regarding "homelessness") that people who own homes are better workers
- Mental Health Services - because sometimes crimes are committed in reaction to mental sicknesses that 'time in confinement' won't cure (or will cure, but only after treatment ... like a broken limb won't heal unless it's properly set & held in a cast).
- Substance Abuse Treatment
- Currently Planned in Oklahoma County
What is the Diversion Hub?
The Diversion Hub will be a collaborative, multi-agency network in a single location dedicated to providing coordinated, life-stabilizing services to individuals navigating the criminal justice system.
Will the Diversion Hub be open 24 hours a day?
No. We anticipate the Diversion Hub to be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Can I donate to the Diversion Hub?
We are thrilled you want to donate and support our mission to help justice-involved individuals navigate the justice system. However, we currently do not accept any donations, but we plan to open this option up in the future. Be sure to check back with us soon. We encourage anyone who would like to support our mission to make a donation to one of our local partners until then.
Who is considered a “justice-involved individual”?
Individuals that have been involved with either/or the Oklahoma City municipal system or the Oklahoma City County Jail.
I am a member of the media. Who can I contact for an interview or for more information about the Diversion Hub?
Specific inquiries or questions beyond the scope of the content found in our media kit can be directed to Lindsay Laird.
