#BibleStudy #WordByWord #Matthew6Six ... Somehow I Hear It as "Lord Jesus' Command that We Only Pray #InSecret," but I'm Sure the Many #PrayerRequest-Lines would Disagree | @PrayerDotOrg

'That word' (below-hyperlinked to Strong's Greek Concordance's entry on 'this word in Matthew 6:6' (the reason I put 'in secret' in the title-line)) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Secret” is built on ancient words that mean "Without, |Apart (On one's Own) + to Separate (to |Sieve, |Discriminate, |Distinguish)." #Secrecy #SecretAgent #Secretly
The word in the Scripture-passage is krypto (translated "in secret" ... crypto?), whose Greek root is also the root of words that translate "Hidden, Inward |Nature (Character)."

Granted, the prayer-meeting wasn't exactly Brother Kenneth's "private chamber"; but it was definitely a secret message ... one that Brother Kenneth could only share (with all the world) through obedient action!

In the Scripture-passage (discussed at the post linked through the paragraph-before-last above), Jesus tells us to pray in secret to Our Father who hears what we say in secret ... is that to say that Our Father doesn't hear what we pray 'in public'?
