#DealingWithSelf: Announcing My Status as Official 'Court #GIFster' (or #GIF #Jester of the Court of Public Opinion ... and/or -of Penguins) @gifkeyboard #Jest
I'm 'addicted' to using GIFs (those animated pictures many social-networks let you attach to your posts)—not so "addicted" that I'll start to suffer (i.e. 'go into withdrawal') if I don't attach enough GIFs while I'm online, but such a frequent GIF-user that it's "what I do" ☺
As books & articles are often improved-upon when illustrations are added, so are many of my 'shared notes on the Internet' improved-upon by the images (mostly pictures taken from widely popular media) that I attach to them.
Making sure I attach 'the most appropriate image I can' to my notes (usually one that shows 'what I'm thinking of' more-clearly ... in fact, sometimes I post just a GIF—letting the image speak for itself), I serve as the court-(of public opinion)-jester—supplying an ounce of jest to make the harsh truth easier to digest.
'That word' (below-hyperlinked to my profile on a site that lists many GIFs) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The letters of “GIF” stand for "|Graphics |Interchange |Format"—not many people know what that means, and just take 'GIF' to mean “Animated |Picture Shared on Social-Networks.”
The word "Jester" is built on words that mean "Action, Exploit (to Carry, Behave, Perform Deeds, Gest)" (|Minstrel who Recites |Idle Tales of |Romance in a |Trifling |Manner, Meant to Amuse, |Buffoon in a Prince's Court, Mocking Speech, |Railery, Joke, Laughing-Stock ... it's also a name built on both/either the name for a family of jesters and/or words that mean "Warrior + |Army").
Know anything else interesting about that? Comment!
