The word “Shampoo” is built on words that mean “to Press, |Knead” (Pound, Massage). 
The word “Menthol” is built on words that mean “Mint + Oil” (White |Substance first obtained from Peppermint). 
The word “Caffeine” is built on words that mean “|Chemical |Substance in Coffee.”
I 'asked Ecosia' (something the world's trees hope replaces 'ask Google'), and they found:

  • AnandTech discussion that suspects it's mainly 'a marketing ploy'
  • BYRDIE review that tells us "they say" the Menthol brings a tingle ("extra cleaning" going on?) and the Caffeine fights hair-loss
