Modern #Myths @OKgazette @FOXnews @nielsen @NBC @CBS @ABCnetwork Let You Believe - #Mythology #Myth #Mythos

Oh, they (and other massive media outlets) don't 'tell you these lies'; it's more like they 'imply that matters might actually be a certain way, give you lots of facts that support the idea that the myth might be true, and don't usually announce that the fact is slightly different than the myth.'

The big example (besides the other ones below 'the built-on word') is 'Legal Marijuana in Oklahoma.' Tierra Media Inc. (publisher of Oklahoma Gazette & Extract magazine) implies that 'marijuana is legal in Oklahoma,' and compounds that implication with facts like 'the amount of money made in marijuana sales for the year since marijuana licensure started' and 'all the positive effects people have been getting through use of "the wacky tobacky"';
But then Facebook won't let me mention that 'the regulated substance' is being sold! Because it's not "legal!"

... I guess all the Tierra Media media sort-of lets people think that–in Oklahoma–you only need to know 'how to get to a Dispensary' and you-&-all-your-rowdy-friends can go in there and buy all the weed you want (maybe showing your ID to prove you're 'over 18' or 'over 21' or some other age-restriction); but NO!

'Going to a Dispensary' is like 'going to a pharmacy in a nursing-home!' (I suppose, as I've never done either one) ... or maybe a better comparison is "like 'jumping over the bar and pouring yourself a drink—perfectly-legal, if you own the bar and/or are currently employed by the bar-owner and/or have the bar-owner's special permission.'"

There are other 'things that journalists/teachers/ministers/leaders "let people think"' that don't match with reality; and then people take 'that thinking,' put it together with other things they imagine (the way you imagine a solid box when you can only see the corners in the right positions) and spread that "idea" as if it's "the truth" ..

The word “Myth” is built on “Speech, Thought, Discourse, Conversation, Story, Saga, Tale, anything Delivered by Word-of-|Mouth” (Rumor, |Imaginary- or |Fictional-|Object or -|Individual, |Coherent System of stories about Divine Beings endorsed by Rulers & Priests and linked to Religion—outside the religion, it then becomes Untrue (or Legend or Folklore)).

    Other myths:
  • that 'minimum wage' was ever meant to support a household's primary earner.
  • that married life is just like dating-life.
  • that Heaven is some 'utopia' somewhere.

You know something about that word-history that
 I don't mention (and that probably isn't mentioned
 below)? 'Fill us in on it'- or just tell me what you

word that confuses you) with a comment below,
