Though 'Our Past Sins DO Give God the Chance to Show His #Mercifulness,' His #Mercy is NO EXCUSE! the Consensus of @Quora's-members Sing!

In response to Scripture that Heart of the Nation's sermon-giver DIDN'T explain (as he had to explain more 'that Jesus ISN'T racist'), we ran across the old 'dissenter's trope' that "it's bad to sin NOW, but it's GREAT that we used to be sinners!'

But we all know that 'that's because of God's mercy,' ... Mercy---|That word| seems important; so I found out a little more about |that word| (below-linked to the thing that brought |that word| to my attention) and share my findings with you below---maybe I'll add some notes beneath (and/or you might start/continue the discussion in the comments).
The word |Mercy| sits at the peak of the high tower above ancient words that mean "Wares, Merchandise (see Market)," which evolved through ancient words that mean "Grace, Thanks, Pity, Favor, Hire, Pay, Wages, Reward, Kindness, Gift" to today's meaning of the word (God's |Forgiveness of God's Creatures' |Offenses).

To Keep Up on My 'Research,'

I'm reminded of the famous Scripture passage of 'a few chapters before' the one I quote |linked above|:
(black lettering on a 'fading from white to light blue at the edges' background) Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. KJV
