There was some very prominent, crucial stuff to the final season. But I was watching it waiting for a few appearances that didn't happen. So--after a 'SPOILER buffer' (basically a big image so you don't glance at any SPOILERS unless you scroll down past it)--I'll tell you what NOT to look for.

My New Mantra (one of several)

To be honest; some of this may have been explained in the previous episodes (of this season & maybe the seasons before), and I just fell asleep during that moment which explains why they're not there. But--either way--don't expect to see

• Harry Kim - the eternal ensign; who should have finally gotten a captaincy, but it was not to be
• (Now that they mention it, A TON of characters from many other STAR TREK series should have been there, but weren't)
• Soji - the young ingenue we met in Season 2
• Wesley Crusher - at the end of the second season, Wesley Crusher showed up and told the young ingenue that he had become a Traveler and was travelling in & out of the timeline helping to keep things just right. I thought he would appear to help his half-brother Jack deal with the problems he had to take care-of; but no ...
• Guinan - she was also in the previous season (running a bar on an Earth-street named Ten Forward, if memory serves correctly). I don't know why she wasn't in season three, but "The Last Generation" deserved at least a 'ZOOM Cameo' from her; and didn't get it.
• Q - another one from the previous season; but I think he actually 'quit The Continuum' or something in that season's finale ...
• Janeway - I think she was even mentioned in one of the previous episodes, but the series finale was missing Mrs. Columbo's crucial voice (unless that was her taking over the voice of "Computer" from Majel Barrett ... except I think they reused Majel's old dialogue).

'The first couple reactions I find' agree with my 'Fulfilling Disappointment'-reaction---"... an ending that's easy to resist," "... To Not So Boldly Go Backwards." But ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY explains some post-credit scenes (which I hadn't even stayed to watch)---oh! That's where Q shows up ... hinting at a plotline for the continuing adventures of this Ensign Crusher (or is it Ensign Crusher-'his father's surname'?)

They say that's good because Q originally met Starfleet in Captain Picard's first episode (STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, "Encounter at Farpoint.") But wasn't Q also the one who introduced The Borg?
