If I'm dressed and having coffee before 6 a.m., I 'reward myself' with one of the several snacks I have sitting in the kitchen. My roommate's best friend was visiting last week, and gave us some Ghirardelli 'chocolate-squares.

I'll 'log' one of the squares' labels, but first–after a mention of the free mining-software (giving us free Bitcoin in exchange for energy we're wasting anyway)–I want to teach you about those words (the bold one(s) below, linked to 'a place where You can get some of that sweet confection). And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
The name “Ghirardelli” (surname of chocolate-maker Domenico) is built on the given name #Gerard, which is built on ancient words that mean "Hard-, Firm-, Brave-, |Hardy Spear."

Finding that name-origin took a little work. I looked through most of these links & didn't find it until Bing pointed out the text I'd missed:

Beneath the GHIRARDELLI-logo, it says, "SQUARES," then "MILK CHOCOLATE," "GINGERBREAD COOKIE," "WITH OTHER NATURAL FLAVORS"---all on a golden brown wrapper decorated with holly & mistletoe for the holiday season.
