@LanguageTool also monitors #Semicolons & #Colons (are those related to the #Colon in Your Guts? to Gen. Powell?)

I list LanguageTool's discussed punctuations in a post you can get to through 'the emboldened link(s)' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)

The word “Colons” is built on ancient words that mean "Limb, Member (like an Arm or a Leg, but also like a Tree-Branch ... used anciently for 'Part of a Verse' or 'Clause of a Sentence')" (with Semicolons of-course being based on 'that plus the prefix |Semi-).
#Colon #Semicolon #SemicolonButterfly (popularly a tattoo, but also referring to the species Polygonia Inerrogationis, a.k.a. the Question-Mark Butterfly)
The word for the internal organ “Colon” (another name for the Large Intestine, a.k.a. the Large Bowel) is built on ancient words that are almost exactly the same as 'the punctuation'-Colon except without a 'line' (a "Macron") over the first "o" (kolon rather than kōlon), which makes it actually mean "Large Intestine" (though 'the two meanings' might be related).
#Colectomy #Colitis #Colonic #Colonoscopy #Colorectal #Colostomy
The name “Colon” is from a surname derived from the given-name Columbia.

LanguageTool (makers of an editing tool that constantly corrects my grammar) say that the colon-mark "introduces lists, separates clauses, and can help add emphasis (when they're not indicating 'time' (12:00) or expressing ratios (2:4))."

Then they say that the semicolon 'connects independent clauses---clauses with a closer relationship than those connected by a period, with less separation than that made by a colon.'
