Crypto Jedi weighs the pros-&-cons of Ripple in a video you can access through 'the bold word(s)' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
The name “Ripple ( #RippleXRP and the #RPCA (Ripple Protocol Consensus Algorithm))” is built on ...
... well, they're not exactly saying. It probably has something to do with 'the way the original software worked,' as #Ripplepay was its original name, before it became OpenCoin, then Stellar and/or Stellar Lumens, Ripple Labs, and then Ripple.
The word "Ripple" might be a frequentative of Rip (related to Rumple).
#Rippled #Rippling #RippleMark #RippleEffect
Ripple is also a surname built on ancient words that mean the family lived on a Strip of Land near the Woods.
#XRP isn't really an initialism, it's more like 'a call-sign' (or a 'stock-ticker' ... Revolut calls it "the abbreviation for the currency---like USD or GBP" (yes, those two 'actually stand for words'; but the words are meaningless, the way DC stood for Detective Comics))
