@TasteOfHome tells @MicrosoftNews what readers should know about Cracks in Home-Grown #Tomatoes | @EUFIC #Tomato
Taste of Home explains 'that crack in your home-grown tomato(es)' in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word “Tomato” is built on ancient words that mean "to Swell" (with spelling influenced by Potato ... it's also a slang-term for "an Attractive Girl" on notion of the Juicy Plumpness ... the "Fruit" is also known as a #LoveApple).
You can see I voted 'Fruit' (quoting Etymonline, but also agreeing ... although I would never put one in a "fruit salad"), but what do you think?
