#Chloroquine #Hydroxychloroquine ... @POTUS45 ap-- well, not so much "approved"; more like 'wasn't AGAINST it very strongly' ... | #Wiktionary
My search on it brought me to Wiktionary's explanation of the etymology in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word “Hydroxychloroquine” is built of #Hydroxy- + Chloroquine.
The prefix "Hydroxy-" is a portmanteau of the words Hydrogen & |Oxygen (so maybe it means 'mixed with Water (H2O)').
The word "Chloroquine" is built #Chloro- & ancient words that mean "Quinoline |Derivative."
"Chloro- (as in Chlorine, Chlorophyll)" is built on ancient words that mean "|Pale Green."
Look at how Trump & his administration handled this 'snake oil':
