To Keep from Cussing, One Learns the #MincedOath for Every 'Forbidden Utterance'

In the NETFLIX comedy special on Swear Words, they tell us about 'minced oaths' for each of the profanities they study.

My post about that special (with links to most of those 'minced oaths') is linked through 'the main words' below; but I feel it's more important to understand that word better. And I find that you understand words better when you look at the other words at the bases of the words you're thinking-of ...

The phrase “Minced Oath” is built on ... well, my source doesn't exactly say, except to list #Oath & #Mince; and to use the phrase to describe a few of the other words it mentions ... (Jeez, Gosh, Drat, Dem, Dang, etc.)
The word "Oath" is built on ancient words that mean "a Solemn Appeal to a Sacred Judge or -Relic, in Witness of a Truth or Promise."
The word "Mince" (to Cut into Little Pieces) is built on ancient words that mean Less, Small. #Minced #Mincing #Mincemeat #MincePie
