If Someone is Named-after You, you are their #Eponym (and you are their #Namesake)

As it's a Year of Saint Joseph, I naturally wondered what 'all the namesakes of Joseph' (from 'the 46th POTUS' to 'The Saint himself') call 'the Joseph they're named-after' (11th son of Jacob/Israel, High Advisor of Egypt, with the Technicolor Dreamcoat).

So I searched, and I found the explanation that's linked through 'the main words' below; but I feel it's more important to understand those words better. And I find that you understand words better when you look at the other words at the bases of the words you're thinking-of ...

The word “Eponym” is built on ancient words that mean Name Upon, -|After. #Eponymous

The word “Namesake” is built the words Name & Sake (as it's 'one who's Named for the Sake of someone who went before).
