@HappyBirthday to @SiegfriedTieber (mostly so #PennAndTeller @PennJillette @MrTeller remember on #January8) & the whole #BirthdayCohort on ... is #ElvisPresley Day an Official Holiday Yet? @NationalToday @BirthdayMates @411Holidays
On Penn & Teller's FOOL US, one of the magicians who managed to 'fool' Penn & Teller (performing an illusion that the two professionals didn't know 'the trick' behind) came back and attempted to win another trophy.
The Fooler didn't fool them this time; but Penn asked for his birthday, saying they'd send him something then (January 8).
So I thought I'd use my "January 8"-birthday-cohort' post (where folks can see whose birthday-cohort they're members-of) to help Penn & Teller remember that (along with that day's cohort & holidays & maybe its event-anniversaries)?'
That day's also special for #Elvis #Presley's birthday, which National Today lists as a holiday ... along with Earth's Rotation- & National Bubble Bath-Day.
That holiday's explanation is linked through 'those names' below; but I feel it's more important to understand those names better. And I find that you understand names better when you look at the other words at the bases of the names ...
The name “Elvis” is probably a variant of the name #Elwes, built on the name #Eloise (it could also be derived from |Alvis or |Elwin or the Irish name |Ailbhe).
"Eloise" is built on ancient words that mean Wide & Healthy/|Hale (or ancient words that mean Sun, or the name Louise). #Elouise
The name “Presley” is built on ancient words that mean "a Forest-|Clearing owned by Priests." #Priestley #Priestly #Preistley #Pressley
Today's Birthday-Cohort
Astrologically, probably in the chart of Capricorn: (beside Elvis Presley, there's) William Hartnell (first man to play The Doctor (DOCTOR WHO)), David Bowie, Stephen Hawking, Kim Jong-un, R. Kelly, Nick Nolte, Betsy DeVos, José Ferrer, Soupy Sales, Rey Misterio Sr. (uncle of Rey Misterio Jr., also a professional wrestler), game-show host Bob Eubanks, Carolina Herrera
(and--if you or someone you know about has a birthday today
--please mention them (and how you know them or -know
about them) in the comments, thanks)
