Bing Rewards sent me to a page (linked through 'the main word' below) where they combine their own weather-forecasts with those of four other sources---much like Rachel Maddow professionally draws from her uncountable resources to learn of- and verify-the recent (and a-little-bit-future) news.
Here, I list a few 'root-words' that tie that word into our lexicon....
The word "Weather" is built on "to Blow" (Storm, Wind ... the closest thing the Greeks had (for 'weather in general' rather than words they had for 'storm' or "Winter") was a word that literally meant Time ... probably part of the reason the adjective #Weathered carries the sense of Old.)
