A more-modern term might be "Nuking the Fridge," named after the moment in Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (fourth movie in the Indiana Jones franchise) when Professor Jones finds himself in a Bomb-Testing Area & hides inside a lead-lined refrigerator to avoid the radioactive blast).
