#BibleStudy: Why Should God Discuss Our 'Making Water'? @ChristianAmbassadors #BibleHub @prayerDotOrg

Like a typical American man, I pee standing-up. Oh, I understand it's "good manners" to sit on the toilet (like I hear is required-by-law in public places in Europe, and like American men probably ought to do when 'going' in apartment-complexes or when you have mixed company at your house); but a) sometimes 'you gotta go' before you can get all the clothing down, and b) it just seems more-convenient.

That (particularly the idea that it's "the American way") makes me think of how The Bible has a few infamous announcements that God will disavow "any who #pisseth against a wall."

Oh, updated versions of those verses might use the word #urinates, or might interpret the verses as if they were simply referring to 'all males' (perhaps to the more-barbaric of them, warriors & soldiers); but the original text often refers to #Urination.

I'll look at those verses in a minute; but first, 'That word' (below-hyperlinked to a review of the text's 6 uses of pisseth) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Pisseth” is built of the word #Piss & the suffix -eth
The word "Piss" on ancient words that are |Imitative of the sound that #Pissing makes (also a word for the |Urine it produces, with the Euphemism |Pee ... #PissOff can be 'the (usually British) Command to Go Away' or 'to Annoy Someone' (usually in America).
#Pissed #Pisses
#PissAndVinegar is a phrase referring to |Vim, Energy; a #PissProphet is "one who Diagnoses Diseases by Inspection of Urine"; #PissProud refers to one's 'member' when it's |Erect when one Awakens
The Hebrew words used there:
  • בְּקִ֔יר (bə·qîr) - a form of קִיר (qir) which translates Wall, and
  • מַשְׁתִּ֣ין (maš·tîn)  - a form of שָׁתַן (shathan ... don't ask me how that works) which translates "to Urinate"
