Discovering more about the new Microsoft-Edge update, I probably should've started by looking at their Tips—both because I was sorta wondering (at the post linked above) why I should use Edge rather than Google Chrome (and I'm sure the Tips will show me how much better some things are), and because Microsoft's Tips-report (hyperlinked thru 'tip' below) actually re-explains all the other 'qualities' (Privacy, Performance, Productivity, Value) in 'the best way to learn them'—thru application* (explaining 'how to operate each shortcut/feature).

All the meanings of the word “Tip” (including the "knock over"-, "small money-gift (allegedly an acronym for 'To Insure Promptitude or -Promptness')"-, "confidential information"-, "point at the end of the rod"- and "light tap"-meanings) carry the scent of “|Utmost |Point, Metal Attached to the Extreme End of something Sharp or |Round.”

The tips include
  • a new icon to click when you want to launch MS Edge
    • I haven't really seen anyone refer to it as 'MS Edge'–possibly because "MS" is the popular initialism for ... some disease-or-other that I'm not talking about–but 'searching for "MS Edge"' did bring up info on "Microsoft Edge," so I don't think I'm coining 'MS Edge' here
  • ways to personalize your 'new tab page' (the webpage that opens automatically when you open a new browser-tab)
    • Select the gear icon in the top corner of the new tab page and select Focused, Inspirational, or Informational, or select Custom to customize the appearance of the new tab page. To personalize your news feed, just select Personalize in the feed header to browse a categorized list of interests.
  • a way to import 'bookmarks' (browser-Favorites) from other browsers & devices into your MS Edge
    • Select Settings and more  > Settings  > Profiles > Import browser data and then choose the browser and what to import.
  • How to sync up MS Edge on all your devices
    • select Settings and more  > Settings  > Profiles > Sync; on iOS and Android, go to Settings, select your account under Accounts, and select Sync.
  • How to switch easily between display-themes
  • How to optimize MS Edge with extensions
  • How to browse without sharing- nor saving-your browser history
  • How to keep better track of your imported browser-information (History, Favorites, Downloads, Apps)
  • Fill forms more quickly (with the information you choose AND your passwords, safely hidden by MS Edge)
  • Have MS Edge read the web to you ALOUD
  • MS Edge can clean up 'articles with lots of advertising pop-ups' so you can read without distractions
  • Quickly share webpages with all your friends & contacts (or with specific groups or individuals among them)
  • 'Cast' (broadcast?) your media to devices that support DLNA or Miracast
  • Move 'the same browsing-session you started on your phone' seamlessly to your PC (and vice-versa?)
  • Change 'the name of one of your browser's bookmarks/favorites' to something easier for you to remember
  • Fit more favorites onto a toolbar by switching to 'Icon Only'-view
  • View a webpage without having to look at the pesky 'address bar & etc.'
  • Put your Extensions where they're easier to find
  • Mute the audio on specific tabs
  • Customize your 'home page' (the one that opens when you click the 'house'-icon) with News-categories you want to see
  • Instantly edit your copy of a PDF
  • Manage the 'authorizations' (permissions) you've given to some of the sites you share information-with
  • "Pin Tabs" for sites (in your Favorites) if you want to see them every time you open MS Edge
  • "Get to websites from the taskbar"—does this mean 'pinning favorites to the same taskbar where you pin shortcuts for programs (including MS Edge)?' ... I ... guess????
  • Make your MS Edge more family-friendly
  • Get permission to see PDFs that are protected by Microsoft Information Protection (MIP)
  • See how soon your ongoing download will finish downloading
  • Set MS Edge to clear your browsing data when you close the browser
  • Connect quickly to MS Edge support
  • Prevent websites from tracking you
  • Translate instantly (in situations where you're sent to a webpage you were thinking was in your language only to find out it's in a foreign language)
  • Prevent videos from automatically starting

What originally brought up "tip" for me was diners' traditional practice of showing their appreciation by letting their abundance overflow into the food-servers' coffers.

Adam Conover "Ruins Tipping" below–revealing that it doesn't actually make the servers do any better, that diners don't usually 'rate' the services through "the amount they tip," that restaurant-owners too often use 'tipping' as "an excuse for paying employees less than minimum-wage," and maybe more reasons why ...
