The word “Kidnap” is built on words that mean "to |Snatch away (|Nab) |Children" (originally children to be |Servants & |Laborers (the first Slaves (in the U.S.)?) in the |American |Colonies).
That came up when I saw Ryan George in this funny 'reimagining' of the first kidnapping (without the sharp tinge of "intending to subject the victim to a lifetime- & legacy of slavery or -indentured servitude") ...
