The word "|Exception|" is built on "to |Grasp + |Ex-" (to Take/|Leave Out).
I admit, a lot of those words don't actually break 'the full rule':
'I' before 'E,' except after 'C' & when sounding like 'A' (as in 'Neighbor' and 'Weigh')And I'm sure there are other 'rule-breaking' words (tell me about them in the comments).
Or maybe I'm looking at it wrong—that's one reason
