A TBI-recovery group I'm in on Facebook shared an article (linked through 'the main word' below) on finding your creativity in disabled conditions, and I was inspired to find out where that word came from:
The word “Jumpstart” is built on ancient words that mean “|Jump (from Gas-|Lighting) + |Start.”
The word "Jump" is built on ancient words that mean ... something—maybe |Imitative (like "Bump"), maybe "to Rock, Balance, Swing," maybe "to |Spring, |Hop" (|Pass |Abruptly from one Matter-State to another, Move Suddenly with a Leap, |Attack, |Pounce upon, etc.)
The word "Start" is built on ancient words that mean "to Leap up" (to Fall, Tumble, |Rush, |Hurl, |Throw, |Plunge).
... But I'm still searching—You know anything about how this word developed into 'meaning something different from the meanings traced above'? Comment below!
