I'm sure you probably believe the MainStream Media when they say that 'Donald Trump lost the popular vote,' because–in total–he did.

But what the MSM doesn't tell you is that Donald Trump won many 'popular votes'—but they were the counts of many-many less-populous areas. 

That's what I realize watching some media (linked through 'the main word' below):
The word “Unite” carries the scent of “to |Make into |One, Unique.”

... But I'm still searching—You know anything about how this word developed into 'meaning something different from the meanings traced above'? Comment below!
