The way she puts it in the TED-talk video (the first linked below), it's 'the technology championed by executives who are blind to it because of the DEEP-deep-deep smokescreen of MONEY we've thrown at them' (i.e. she holds them to blame, the same way we hold President Trump to blame for every bad decision his co-workers make).

But–before I go into 'defending the surfers for the tidal-wave they expertly cruise at the top-of'–I felt like there might be something more to that word ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which 'my case for their innocense' builds ...

In defense of 'the executives Cadwalladr names': 'Blaming them for the ballot-hack' is a lot like 'blaming "Ronald McDonald" for poor service at your local McDonald's.' That's the point President Donald Trump was trying to make when he said 'the election-hack "might've been done by a 400-pound slacker in bed in his mother's basement."'

One way to help prevent future tampering–one very-small change (actually kinda big) that might not seem connected to 'national security'–is to break the tech-monopolies ... I'm even forgetting 'how tech-monopolies & honest-information are connected' now—

Robert Reich there explains that 'the money' is so unevenly divided that "'4 of those executives' make more money than the lower 50% incomes of the U.S. population combined!" What's happening: the false information is being broadcast by their technology networks-not because 'the workers verify that the liars' information is "true,"' but -because 'the workers verify that the liars' money is good!'
