And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
The word “Impedes” is built on ancient words that mean "to |Shackle the Feet" (or 'when one's Foot gets stuck Into or -In,' |Hinder, |Detain).

The "Microsoft Rewards"-staff aren't entirely thoughtless ... well, 'there are (were) other users whom MR assists in helping'; as the thread's complaints were apparently "resolved" (way back in March of 2020) by A. User, who made a few suggestions and shepherded other users to contact the Microsoft Rewards Support Team.
