Well, I'm sure the companies don't 'want people to die'; more like 'they don't care if people live except as the deaths would eat into their profits.'

... or something I explain in a post you can access through 'the bold word(s)' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
The name “Novo Nordisk” is built on a combination of the names of two merged companies---a #Novo Industri A/S (Novo Terapeutisk Laboratorium) & #Nordisk Gentofte A/S (Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium). 
"Novo" is built on ancient words that mean New." 
"Nordisk" is a variation of #Nordic---literally "Of- or Pertaining to-the North." 
"Eli Lilly" was a Pharmaceutical Chemist & Union Colonel in the American Civil War. 
The name #Eli (if not short for the female names |Elisabet or |Elin) is built on ancient words that mean "My God" or "Ascension." #Ely #Heli #Eeli 
The surname #Lilly is built on either the name Elizabeth or the |Lily (Flower) or the place Lilly in |Hertfordshire (built on words that mean Flax & Clearing) or |Berkshire (the Wood associated with |Lilla). 
And I can't find the source of the name Sanofi ... maybe it resembles some French words that every French toddler knows ... (or maybe someone will explain it in the comments).
