What's "Fun" about #Merge-Games (like #MergestKingdom or #TropicalMerge)? Maybe @MissMayim will tell us! | @BrainSparker @Poki @Bing
They say "neuroscientists are telling people over 40 to play these games." That's why I'm checking with Dr. Mayim!
Facebook Games invites you to play the merge-game "Mergest Kingdom" at the page linked through 'the bold hyperlink(s)' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
The word “Merge (or you can play Tropical Merge ... #Merged #Merging #Merger #Submerge)” is built on ancient words that mean "to Dip, Sink, Wash, |Plunge" (Dive under).
a modified ("unlimited currency") game for Android ... I just liked the image ... |
I asked Bing to find a little bit of 'what Critics are saying about Merge Games,' and they found:
- Why do people like merge games? (gamecultists.com) - I have to scroll halfway down the page before I get something close to the answer I'm looking for
- MERGE GAMES Online - Play Free Merge Games on Poki - again, halfway down (this time past a large selection of Merge Games they host); to learn 'the kind of gamer that likes this sort of game'
- (that was after looking at 'the first page of search-results, because--of course--none of the pages after that one "matter"!
I guess people like it (especially if they're "Digital Hoarders & Improvers") for the natural dopamine-boost that comes when they move up-a-level or combine for the next-larger construction.
You think?
