Scientology does reams-&-reams of storytelling that props up a character whom they call L. Ron Hubbard.

Russell Miller--author of the above-linked biography of a science-fiction author who went by that character's name--appeared on Leah Remini's SCIENTOLOGY and The Aftermath and confirmed that the science-fiction author was 'just telling a story' when he told us of L. Ron Hubbard's excellent school-grades & pioneering nuclear-physics work & miraculous recovery from battle-wounds.

Looking around a little (or maybe just inventing a memory---as we Hubbards are wont to do), I read that L. Ron Hubbard's "real military-records" were just a "sheepdipped" cover-story (kept so that we Americans had something to 'leak' to the world through our Freedom-of-Speech while his past- & ongoing spy-work remains unknown & unseen ... and also totally fictional ...)
