Saying #Goodbye (Yes, "Deaths" have happened; but #WhatBringsUpTheWordToday is Flash's (@AdobeNews) parting from @GoogleChrome in #December2020) | @Bing @HTMLstandard | #Bye #GBye #GoodBy #GoodBye

Well, 'Google Chrome explains "the parting ways with (this version of) Flash"' at the article hyperlinked-to below.

But what's important here is 'that word'---a word which you only know-about because it's connected to other words you know better, built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Goodbye” is based on an ancient contraction of the phrase God Be With Ye (influenced by the phrases GoodDay, GoodNight ... funny that those are 'parting salutations,' but #GoodMorning, #GoodAfternoon & #GoodEvening seem to be 'Greetings' 🤔).

When Chrome alerted me on the upcoming 'goodbye' and I started writing this post, I almost wanted to make it a list of important people who have "passed away"

(an 'emotionally fragile' way of saying they "died"? maybe ... you notice how they almost-never say the dead 'passed away' when they're talking about "death-tolls in wars or pandemics"? I guess they stop being "individual souls that matter" when the totals get above the double-digits, eh?)
