The word “Media” is probably abstracted from "Mass-Media (Means of Communication that Reach Large Numbers of People)," a term that's technically the plural of "Medium (Intermediate Agency)," built on ancient words that mean "in the |Middle, |Between" (-|a)
If I were being "fair & balanced," the above hyperlink would point to a "Liberal" analysis of MainStream Media (and also a "Libertarian"- & "Statist"- & "Centrist"-analysis), but 'Liberal' media doesn't seem to use 'this rule.'
Their headlines announce 'the crime that happened' as if the criminal committed the crime with First Degree intentions---they proclaim that the officers 'violated the peace,' rather than that the officers 'kept the greater peace (by managing a potential violator).'
People are more attracted to media that tells them 'something's wrong in the world, and people (maybe you) need to go out and make it right' than to median that tells them 'everything's alright.' Spotlight hogs!
